The Grond are a race of people that live on the volcanic island Crag's Reach. They have marbled stone skin and are built like an extremely tall, bulky, human. They are semi-intelligent, averaging an intelligence level of an orc or a human barbarian. Grond are born from the cooled remains of the volcano's eruptions. They grow by adding bits of earth to themselves on their Cooling Day ritual. Higher ranking Grond add precious gems and marble, lower ranking Grond add clumps of clay and mud.
